Slit-Seeding

Mechanical overseeding that thickens thin and bare lawns.

Slit-seeding (also called slice-seeding) uses a machine to cut shallow grooves in the soil and drop seed directly into them. That strong seed-to-soil contact gives far better germination than simply spreading seed on the surface — the best way to thicken a thin lawn or repair bare patches.

It’s an ideal renovation for older, worn lawns and a great companion to aeration. Fall and spring are prime windows in our area; we’ll recommend the right timing for your lawn.
